Watching her parents taste wine, Jane Halahan Valentin, learned to appreciate wines and understand varietal trademarks. Her dream had always been to own a vineyard, especially after taking a general education course in Winemaking at UC Davis. After falling in love with wine anew, she held off pursuing that dream in favor of the practical study of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. However, Fate had other ideas in mind. After leaving University, her first job landed her at Clos du Bois Winery as a lab tech. During that harvest, she realized you can’t run from your passion. Jane then devoted her energy to enhancing her knowledge biology and chemistry and perfecting her craft.
She studied Winemaking at UC Davis while getting her Master’s at Sonoma State University. Once complete, she found herself at Hall Winery, where she discovered a passion for creating ultra premium lush wines with rich complexity and opulent tannins. Her goal is to showcase the extensive possibilities of traditional varietals, and to make wine that is the perfect compliment to making wonderful memories.
